It was a pleasure to assist the students at Sugarloaf Elementary School who were in the process of learning to sort their lunch waste into three different bins: Recyclables, Compostables, and Trash. I was impressed how diligent they were! These kids are more than ready to do their part to make our world more sustainable.

Mobilize Frederick engages community partners — organizations, businesses, local government — to support Green Schools. Establishing meaningful relationships with community partners to raise awareness and solve environmental problems meets Objective 3 of the Maryland Green Schools application.

Partners can assist teachers in indoor and outdoor classrooms, advise school green teams, be guest speakers, help with student action projects, develop ideas for grants, organize special events and service projects, host field trips, and more.
