2027 Climate Summit
Photography Competition

How do you see Frederick responding to a changing climate?

We are looking for photographs that tell a story, raise a question, reveal an unexpected relationship, offer a new way of seeing our community, or inspire neighbors to act. Photographs do not need to literally illustrate a theme, and creative interpretations are encouraged.

In 2021, the Climate Response and Resilience Report was published with a set of recommendations to prepare Frederick County and Frederick City to thrive in a changing climate. The categories below represent the themes of that report, and for the competition:

CONSERVE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
What does using fewer resources, wasting less, or consuming thoughtfully look like?

ELECTRIFY EVERYTHING
How are we changing the way we produce and use energy?

PRESERVE AND RESTORE NATURE
Where do people and nature adapt, coexist, or work together?

BUILD FOR THE FUTURE
How are people and communities preparing for a changing climate?

Who can enter?

Age Group 1: 18 years old and younger
Age Group 2: 19 years old and older
