As an assistant professor and endowed chair of sustainability studies at Hood College, I am deeply passionate about sustainability research, teaching, and community collaboration.

 

My background in biology, biodiversity, and sustainable agriculture has fueled my interests in the food-water-energy nexus, organic waste recycling, and soil quality improvement. I love exploring innovative uses of organic waste and closed-loop agriculture, always looking for creative solutions to environmental challenges. I'm also dedicated to issues of environmental justice, climate change, and renewable energy, and I strive to weave these important themes into my classes and research projects. One of my favorite aspects of my work is engaging with communities to promote sustainability from the ground up, helping to drive meaningful change.

When I'm not immersed in my academic and community work, I enjoy a vibrant family life with my husband and our three children. We love traveling, camping, and spending time outdoors, always seeking new adventures together.
