Meg Menke
TREASURER, BOARD OF DIRECTORS

IMG_4121.jpeg

Meg Menke is retired from careers in local government and business ownership.  She is committing her retired years to community service — as treasurer, board member, chair or project volunteer with local organizations such as Second Chances Garage, Women’s Giving Circle of Frederick, Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Frederick and the Town of Barnesville Planning Commission.

During her time in government, she was The Director of the Mid-County Government Center and later The Office of Planning Policies, both with Montgomery County Government.  As a business owner, she and her husband John created Technical Innovations, Inc. then designed and manufactured computer controlled observatory domes for serious amateur astronomers throughout the world.

Meg’s education includes degrees from Marquette University (psychology) and two masters degrees from the University of Maryland (education and public policy). She enjoys the theater and visual arts world of downtown Frederick, staying physically active, socializing with family/friends, book clubs, and cooking.  Meg and John have been part-time residents of downtown Frederick for eleven years (meanwhile residing on a small farm in Barnesville for 32 years), then moved here full time in 2023. The Menke cat, JoZ, lives with them on East 3rd St.
